Bioshock

June 25th 2008 00:22

Bioshock was released in Augusts of 2007 for Xbox 360 and PC. The game should be released for the PlayStation 3 console in October 2008.

Although Bioshock is an older game in terms of how games come in and out of popularity, it's still a very fun and entertaining first person shooter game. It's broken into several large segments that are separated by logically placed load times, so it's not so bad.

Bioshock is definitely the game to play. If you're playing the PC version, you'll want to check out the patches, as they'll help you out with the kinks.

Released in the U.S. on June 5th, DBZ can be found for PS3 and Xbox 360. Definitely check out the trailer before you purchase the game. I mean it's an okay game, but it's basically fan-based, in regards to the storyline and presentation of the game. There's nothing big and exciting about how the game is played out. For the most part, if you know the bigger story covered in the Dragon Ball Z sagas, then this is just a a series of fights, lacking anything special.

You'll see a good assortment of characters and battles; the battles and combat being probably the best aspect of the game.

If you're not a regular DBZ fan, then you're probably going to be pretty confused as to what's going with the characters and the storyline.

Although, it's a large part in just about all games to almost all gamers, in Burst Limit, the storyline isn't the main focus of the game, which in this case may possible be a benefit to the game, as the combat can be rewarding. There are several simple attacks and moves that you can try out against enemies such as basic blocks, jumps, and Ki powers.

There are also a number of advanced moves that allow you to master the game's mechanics and dynamics. IE black and dodge against an attack correctly, and you can teleport behind your opponent and hit them from behind.

Make sure that you carefully watch and manage your Ki Gauge, as it can offer a number of strategy tips. Also, when fully charged, you can use your Ki to perform special blocks that can protect you from most other attacks.

Another good aspect of the game is the counter-attack system that allows one character who attacks another with a matching attack to get their hit in, catering towards strategy and timing.

You'll also encounter Drama Pieces that give each character a little more personality as well as have an effect on what happens in the game.

For the most part the game is ok, and personally that's about it. The variety is pretty slim to none, but the combat and character attacks make the game more interesting. The game would probably rate much higher, if only it had more stages and levels and more varied characters. Yes, there is a large list, but after you've played the game a bit, the characters all seem to be the same.

Metal Gear Solid 4 Trailer

June 10th 2008 16:09

To be released on June 12th, Metal Gear Solid 4 features an aging and exhausted Solid Snake in the middle of a futuristic battlefield. Snake is equipped with new devices and a high-tech suit that transforms its texture based on Snake's surroundings.

The gameplay allows Snake to seamlessly blend into his environment which provides him with the means to stalk his enemies.

In this chapter of Hideo Kojima's legendary espionage, it marks the return of many characters from previous Metal Gear Solid games. You'll see Revolver Ocelot, Meryl Silverburgh, Naomi Hunter, and Raiden.

There are rumors that Snake will not return for another game. I guess it's up to you to play the game and find out if there will be a Metal Gear Solid 5.
