Rock Band Gold Stars - Dirty Little Secret
July 26th 2008 01:34
I've noticed that alot of songs on Rock Band are fairly easy to get 98-100% on expert for guitar but for some reason even when you get 100% on the song you sometimes don't get the gold stars to go with it. Generally gold stars is acheived through getting around one and a half of the 5 star score. For examply if you get 5 star with 100,000 points the gold star will be around 150,000. One of the songs i've seen that people are having problems with getting 100% on but not "gettin' the gold" is Dirty Little Secret by The All American Rejects, I'm gonna tell you technique and tips on how to ALWAYS get 100% and gold stars on this song. From here on out, all colors will be abbreviated for quickness. Key= Green-G, Red-R, Yellow-Y, Blue-B, Orange-O. All Chords will be as they are seen on the screen, for a green red and blue chord it will simply say G-RB...got it? I will use 2 positions in reguards to where you left hand/fingers are positioned on the neck of the guitar, position 1 will be GRYB while position 2 will be RYBO with each of your four fingers on corresponding buttonsI sure hope so, cuz it doesn't get much simpler. So here we go.
First of all, Position 1 will work best for almost the entire song except where noted in here.
For the intro to the song you will be doing GY chords followed by blue with a Y,Y,R,Y,R,G ending, after that it's all basic chords that can be done from position one with ease, near the end of the first verse it's a good idea to switch to position 2 and have your index finger stretched so that you can hit the trip chord of YBO and then go back to position one for the chorus. The best time to start your overdrive EVERY time is during the chorus the first time you play the GYB chords that way you're getting the most "bang for your buck" The song is fairly simple after that but be sure to watch out for after the second chorus directly after the bridge there is a quick Y,B,O hammer on part that can mess some people up. For the solo the first half should be played in position 1 and then switched to position one before the orange notes start. Save that overdrive! The 3rd activation will be during the last chorus. You will probably have the gold stars already by now but don't lose that 100%! It'll make you feel better! At the end you have the same riff as the intro with a different chord of GR at the very end, and there ya go! I hope this will help some newcomers out there.
The score cutoff for 5 Stars is 106,484 and the Gold Star Cutoff is 161,801
